Post & Images by Jack McIntyre
During Daytona Bikeweek 2025, I was shooting some bikes at once again, the Broken Spoke Saloon (the greatest Biker Bar anywhere), and this fellow came up to me asking if Easyriders Magazine would be interested in his chopped Kawasaki. I took a look at his bike & right there on the spot checked with Dave Nichols, the editor of Easyriders. Dave loved the bike, but it really wasn’t the type of bike that ER posts. I decided to do the shoot because the bike had so many cool details, it had to be seen by others. After Bikeweek I presented it to Traditional Chopper Magazine, which they did a terrific print & story on it.

I’m doing this post today because now that this bike has been seen, and in print back in June, I can now share it with all of you. HOWEVER, give Traditional Chopper Magazine a look, they do a terrific job with their publications.
So this is a 1973 Kawasaki KZ900. Tim Scates ripped her down & re-built it up. Tim had the seat redone, added engraving & 24K gold. He told his painter to do an old school paint scheme, which he joked about doing a hit of Acid before starting, and he nailed it.
