A GLANCE BACK AT MY 2021 BUFFALO CHIP EXPERIENCE

Post & Images by Jack McIntyre

The Sturgis journey, for me anyway, is a little over 1700 miles from the Philadelphia suburbs where I live. The drive across country is stunning, many different plains, looks, weather patterns, great people, and more.

It’s hard to comprehend the distance between states once getting west of Chicago, the vast amount of corn fields, thousands of windmills, and as you approach South Dakota, the growing amount of motorcycles in your mirrors for those who took a different kind of journey, the two wheel kind.

However, after passing the town of Wasta, the Badlands, and then finally Rapid City, you are almost home.

So, onto the fun. I’ve been coming to Sturgis going on 23 years or so now, and believe me, there are plenty of great places to stay & things to do, but for me it’s the Buffalo Chip. As a photographer, it has it all. From a full weeks worth of bike shows up at the Crossroads, amazing vendors, repair facilities, and even fuel. Each evening the amphitheater becomes alive with bands, food, drinks, and antiques of all types. The entertainment is booming from morning till night with amazing riding all around the area, then return to your camper or RV to prep for the nights concerts.

I will add a few galleries below which I will split up with descriptions to help understand the incredible amount of events that go on daily.

See what I mean? And this isn’t the half of it all. Below see a gallery with a few pics from the Chopper Show, one of the Chips daily motorcycle shows.

Moving on, the Veteran’s Ceremony always hits home. I was in the Marines many years ago and it never leaves my blood, and I know that there are Vet’s all over our viewership, so these images show how wonderful of a job Greg & the Chip put on for us all. And the crowds are there to show their appreciation.

Ok, I’ve over done it with images, but my stats show that there are all looked at, I have an average time on site of 18 minutes so that’s why I offer so many image examples. I need to paint a picture, and that I do…

Last I’ll leave you with a little from the Flying Piston Benefit, Legends Ride in Deadwood , and the Wrap Up Party at the Chip hosted by Bryan Carrol, Producer/Director at Why We Ride.

Thanks again for hanging with me on this post, it’s a lot of fun entertainment. As always, if you want to advertise, the deal is fantastic.
