TROG 2026: A NOR’EASTER, A BEAT-UP BEACH, AND A WHOLE LOT OF HORSEPOWER!

WILDWOOD, NEW JERSEY — OCTOBER 1–4, 2026

One of my FAVORITE Events of the year!!!

Mother Nature just threw one hell of a punch at the Jersey Shore, but it looks like she hasn’t knocked out The Race of Gentlemen just yet!

This past weekend, September 26–27, a powerful nor’easter came roaring up the coast, hammering the Jersey Shore with severe coastal flooding, pounding surf, and enough nasty weather to trigger a state of emergency. Outdoor events were canceled, beaches took a beating, and plenty of folks started wondering whether TROG 2026 would be washed out before the first engine even fired.

But hold on to your handlebars, folks. TROG is still on the calendar!

As of the latest reported updates, the legendary gathering of vintage iron, hot rods, and old-school horsepower is moving forward with its October 1–4 dates in Wildwood, New Jersey.

And if you’ve ever experienced TROG, you know this isn’t your typical weekend at the races. We’re talking stripped-down vintage motorcycles, traditional hot rods, old-school builders, and racers who live for the smell of gasoline, the roar of uncorked engines, and the thrill of running wide open across the sand.

No fancy asphalt. No modern racetrack. Just man, machine, and a whole lot of history.

HERE’S HOW THE WEEKEND IS SHAPING UP

The action kicks off Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2, with swap meets, kickoff parties, and plenty of opportunities to check out some incredible vintage machinery.

Then comes the main event!

Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, are scheduled for the legendary beach drag races, when these beautiful old machines get their chance to stretch their legs along the Wildwood shoreline.

BUT THERE’S ONE BIG QUESTION: WHAT ABOUT THE BEACH?

Here’s where things get interesting.

Unlike a conventional racetrack, TROG depends entirely on Mother Nature’s cooperation. The beach is the track, the sand is the racing surface, and the tides ultimately help determine when the action can happen.

With the recent nor’easter pounding the coastline, beach erosion, lingering flooding, and changing sand conditions could force adjustments to the racing schedule.

The organizers will have to work with whatever conditions the Atlantic Ocean leaves behind.

The bottom line? The show is still scheduled to go on, but the ocean gets the final say!

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE OFFICIAL TROG UPDATES

If you’re planning to head down to Wildwood, keep an eye on the official Race of Gentlemen Facebook page and TROG Instagram account for any last-minute changes.

Race times and beach access could change depending on conditions, so don’t hit the road without checking the latest announcements.

And for those of us who live and breathe vintage motorcycles, traditional hot rods, and the kind of racing that takes us straight back to the glory days of American motorsports, we’re hoping the sand dries out, the tides cooperate, and the engines come roaring to life.

A little wind, a little rain, and a whole lot of sand aren’t going to keep the old-school crowd away if there’s racing to be had!
