HOW DO PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS DEAL WITH SOCIAL MEDIA SITES?

Post & Images by Jack McIntyre & Chopper Dave PLUS the noted sites below.

It’s a strange business, motorcycle lifestyle photography that is… With social media basically taking over, websites aren’t what they once were, HOWEVER, if you want to see the best images, photographers are staying away from Facebook & Instagram to a point, and are only posting the “good stuff” on their private sites, which is the way it should be. For now, we make the best of what social media can offer, which is a glimpse into our world.

Don’t get me wrong, social media has it’s plus side, but for the professionals, we are only using it to bring you over to our side, where all of the quality sits. For example, House of Choppers Nation is a site basically controlled by Jack McIntyre & John Marcella in Philadelphia & Chopper Dave in Sunny Florida.

We were at one time, Bikerpics.org which currently feeds House of Choppers Nation it’s content. Same players as the last few decades, just some added names.

I’m not here to bash Facebook or Instagram, because for catching up with family or old friends, you can’t beat it, or even to show a quick motorcycle build video, it’s excellent. BUT, if you want to check out a motorcycle rally first day to last, some of the funny adult situations that develop, or need a paragraph to help explain a photo shoot of a wild chopper with a model, well then you need a great blog of sorts or a terrific Biker website.

Everyone has their favorite outlets for images, me… I go to a few different photographers regularly (besides our own company). Photographers such as Michael Lichter

(LichterPhoto.com), he’s my inspiration and long time friend, he never slows down & captures the lifestyle and motorcycles like no other.

My more recent new photo friend, Eddie Phillips (EddieRapidPhoto),

I met Eddie at the 2023 Son’s of Speed Motorcycle race in Florida. After seeing his work I was shocked at how incredible his images were.

Aaron Packard is another…

(Aaron Packard Photography) we met at Sturgis way way back, both of us shooting for the Buffalo Chip. I was doing the Legends Ride, Aaron needed a motorcycle to

sit backwards on to shoot, so away we went & we have been friends ever since. His work is so wonderful to flip through, you must check him out.

Ken M. Stork, Digital Creator.

Catch Ken’s FB page to get started, but if you want to see his work, catch him live with his rolling museum of prints. This super talented dude, always friendly, fun to be around, this guy screams of imagination.

Let’s not forget Missi DeBord (Bikerphotog.com)

Missi is a perfect example of how a photographers best images sit on a site outside of social media. Her work is all over Cycle Source magazine as well other sites. Be sure to flip through her super cool pics.

Last I want to introduce you to Polina Krasnova from Moscow, Russia and Herve’ Rebollo from Paris, France.

Polina has an amazing story of growing up in Russia, and accomplishing so much in the world of Photography. We met at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona Italy in 2020, actually now that I think about it, we never personally met, yet she’s in many of my images from that show as she presented awards and so on. Since that show, we’ve chatted via text & voice all through COVID and the lock down in Russia during the start of the on going war. I’m happy to say that she now lives with her new husband, Harley, in Italy & shes doing better than ever. Here eye for photography is second to none and it shows in her work. Check her out by clicking here, she does share her work on Facebook for now, but her clients know how wonderfully talented she is, and so do I.

Herve’ Rebollo is our “Across the Pond” corespondent for Iron Trader News.

Herve’ provides us a look into the French Biker scene as no one else could. He travels constantly on his stunning Harley-Davidson, sending in wonderful articles from all over France and other surrounding areas. If you love a look into history, well then you must read his posts. From Castles and French Chalets, to World War Two fields in Normandy, he reports on it all. Across the Pond, exclusively on Iron Trader News.

Of course there are so many more, but this post would last for quite a while. My point is simple, not everything sits on social media sites, dig in, find your favorite artists, and learn what they are all about. You would be surprised at what you may be missing.

Now a commercial…lol. I invite you to look at my Photography site for ideas for your home or office. Lots of cool wall prints, especially when I place images on free hanging metal.

All of my work, no matter if it’s motorcycle related, travel, the Islands, and more, is available on any type of printing surface, any size. I can also work on images that you may have saved, or suggest images that are deep in my archives depending on your need. Looking back at Daytona Biketoberfest 2005.

Post & Images by Jack McIntyre.

Everyone has that one rally that they go to each year religiously. For me, it’s Biketoberfest in Daytona. Beautiful weather, great crowds, terrific riding… it has it all. I’m beginning to post galleries from the early 2000’s, but I came across this one from 2005 that I shot, not my greatest work but I loved every bit of it. I had been shooting the rallies for about 8 years at this point, but for some odd reason, this one just sticks to my memory.

Each morning, more often than not outside of a hurricane off and on, this is what I woke up to. Staying beach side was always how I operated. My day started in a good way, and that feeling lasted until the last pic I took until the late night.

During those wonderful years, I’d say 2000 – 2008 or so, and don’t get me wrong, it’s still going on, but there were some amazing charity rides and ball room parties that really set this event apart. The big TV builders were emerging, and couldn’t have been more hospitable towards the fans or the kids from the selected charities. Below are a few images from one particular event we all did yearly, and a few faces that aren’t with us any longer, great people through & through.

Now onto the fun of it all. From what was the brand new Destination Daytona with the Hard Rock Roadhouse run by Carrie Repp (amazing woman), over to the Iron Horse Saloon, then bouncing to Main Street with it’s assortment of terrific bars, Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Old Time Chopper Show, and the always amazing Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show when it was at the Peabody Auditorium. There was NEVER a lack of entertainment.

If you like, keep an eye on our image galleries specific to Daytona for this and many other galleries from Daytona, ESPECIALLY the Chopper Dave Galleries, he provides a ton of content from Daytona plus all of the other Florida rallies & events.
