A VISIT TO THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BIG HOUSE MUSEUM.

Post by Jack McIntyre, Images by Chopper Dave

Every year Photographer Chopper Dave travels from his home in sunny Florida, up to Ohio. On this trip, he swung by The Big House Museum in Macon, Georgia, where an historic landmark dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Allman Brothers Band rests. Once the communal home of band members, their families, and friends in the early 1970s, the house now serves as a richly curated museum showcasing the band’s history and influence on Southern rock. Visitors can explore a vast collection of personal memorabilia, stage clothing, instruments, and rare photographs that offer an intimate look into the lives of the band members. The museum captures the spirit of the era and the brotherhood that defined the Allman Brothers Band, making it a pilgrimage site for fans and music historians alike. Visit their website for details & hours.
