BACK TO THE BUFFALO CHIP I GO, AND I COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED!

Post & Images by Jack McIntyre

Welcome Home… don’t you love it ? My trip to Sturgis is 3400 miles round trip, it’s not easy. I carry a lot of camera equipment, my MAC’s, and lots more so the good ol’ RV gets set up for the journey, and it’s my home / editing office for 15 days every August.

So, I’ve had my discussions with the Buffalo Chip for this years event, and I will be there shooting starting August 2nd through the 10th. I’m really looking forward to shooting the daily motorcycle shows, in-particular the School’s Out Chopper Show, but not to take away from all of the other shows. Each day there is a different feel, a new show with a great theme ending with the World Famous Rats Hole show at weeks end. And, what better arena is there anywhere ???

The Buffalo Chip has so many different daily events, if you go to this link, you can review the ever growing daily schedule, and I think that for the rest of this post, I will simply add images of some of my experiences and add some captions. My goal is to get you to the Buffalo Chip, if you haven’t noticed. Seeing it in person, is believing.

Bean’re with Steven Tyler, Buffalo Chip 2008, “Hat Swap”.
Rod “Woody” Woodruff, the Man with the Master Plan.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem poses with the Legends Ride crowd.

Let’s take a look at a few images of the Veterans and how the respect level is huge at the Chip.

Supporting soldiers and veterans has long been a tradition at the Buffalo Chip, and again this year the Chip will be dedicating an entire day to the acknowledgment of these brave men and women. Help honor the past and present members of our military during the 33rd annual Freedom Celebration on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023!

Experience a variety of powerful presentations, moving events and inspiring performances, all specifically designed to recognize those who have selflessly served and, in some instances, sacrificed their lives during the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s® Military Tribute Day.

In addition to official Freedom Celebration events, you have the opportunity throughout the Rally to honor those who have served by visiting several meaningful military tributes located at Buffalo Chip’s free-access Freedom Field adjacent to the CrossRoads.

Back to the concerts, these next few images are from the Amphitheater area of the Buffalo Chip. This is the place to be for their Killer concerts.
